Project Overview

Quick commerce and regular e-commerce pull in opposite directions. Instant delivery needs a tight local catalogue, dark-store stock accuracy, and a promise measured in minutes; the wider catalogue needs browsing, comparison, and scheduled delivery. This app runs both from one storefront — the customer sees "Instant Needs" and "Shopping Zone" as two entry points rather than two apps — and the store side handles the difference: local stock for instant orders, standard fulfilment for the rest, with offers and referral mechanics driving repeat use across both.

What the Product Does

Instant needs and shopping zone

Two shopping modes from one home screen — a local, fast-moving catalogue promised in ten to twenty minutes, and a broader catalogue browsed by category for scheduled delivery.

Category browsing, search, and reorder

Grocery, fashion, and electronics under one search box, with filters, best-deals rails, and one-tap reorder from past baskets.

Offers, coupons, referrals, and wallet

Percentage and value offers, free-delivery thresholds, refer-and-earn rewards, coupon codes, and a wallet that settles cleanly at checkout.

Serviceability and delivery promise

Address and pin-code serviceability, per-zone availability, and a delivery promise that reflects what the local store can actually fulfil right now.

Picking and substitution

A picker workflow that scans items, flags shorts, proposes substitutions for customer approval, and closes the basket with an adjusted total.

Inventory, pricing, and admin

Store-level stock and pricing, bulk catalogue updates, and dashboards covering fill rate, slot utilisation, and basket size.

Who Uses It, and How

Shopper

  • Order essentials in a couple of taps and get them in minutes.
  • Browse the wider catalogue for fashion and electronics in the same app.
  • Stack offers and referral credit, then track the order to the door.

Store picker

  • Work a slot-batched pick list with scanning.
  • Handle shorts and substitutions with the customer in the loop.
  • Hand off a packed, reconciled basket to delivery.

Category manager

  • Manage catalogue, pricing, and offers across stores.
  • Set slot capacity ahead of peak days.
  • Watch fill rate, substitution rate, and basket value.

Why It Matters

Instant delivery drives the order frequency that everyday commerce lives on.

A second, wider catalogue lifts basket value without acquiring a new customer.

Referral and threshold mechanics are built in, not bolted on later.

Fill rate and substitution data show exactly where the local catalogue is failing.
